Reusing Bath, Laundry & Sink Water to Conserve Fresh Water
WWater Legacy Greywater System WL55

The Water Legacy WL55 system is unique among tank systems in terms of features. It's fully automatic and requires no operator involvement. In the event of insufficient greywater for flushing of toilets, the WL-55 will complement with fresh water. The system has a fully validated 100% guaranteed fail-safe disinfection system no need for homeowner monitoring or intervention.

Made in the USA it consists of a water filter, ultraviolet light disinfection system, hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) disinfection system, and a 55-gallon water storage tank. Greywater from showers, baths, and hand sinks is captured by a greywater plumbing system which is separate from the blackwater plumbing system. The water collected from the greywater plumbing is first filtered by the Water Legacy.

The greywater is then dosed with the disinfecting agent, hydrogen peroxide, which releases oxygen molecules to neutralize pollutants. Greywater then passes through an ultraviolet light disinfection system which disinfects the greywater by neutralizing living organisms by altering their DNA structure.

Hydrogen peroxide and ultraviolet light are commonly used for wastewater disinfection but have not been part of a packaged greywater system until now. This is unique to Water Legacy WL55.

Disinfected greywater is stored in a 55-gallon drum for reuse. When a toilet is flushed treated water is piped to the toilet through a separate plumbing system. In the event greywater production exceeds the demand for treated stored water, treated water safely overflows the storage tank to the dwelling’s sewer discharge.

Residual hydrogen peroxide mixed in the treated water prevents contaminants from reactivating in the storage and toilet tanks. Treated water is also cycled through the ultraviolet light system prior to delivery to the toilet.

Unlike other systems the WL 55 uses no chlorine which pollutes indoor air quality and it provides One Year Autonomy – the filtering and disinfection systems have a minimum one year cycle between required maintenance.

This system can save a typical household 25-35% off water and sewer bills not to mention conserving drinking water and helping the environment.
